Australasian Student Leadership Conference (SLC)
Collaborating with the International Coalition of Girls’ Schools, in 2025, yLead will facilitate the Australasian Student Leadership Conference (SLC) in Sydney. This four-day residential conference is designed to specifically meet the needs of female student leaders. We are inviting young female leaders to apply and support us with the delivery of this unique and life-changing experience for 200 Year 12 female leaders. Help us create the most memorable SLC possible.

Who can apply?
There isn’t just one set of traits we admire in successful leaders, therefore, each year yLead’s conference teams are carefully selected. Showcasing a range of personalities, experiences, strengths, and talents. We value authenticity, dedication, professionalism, and an embodiment of yLead’s values.
ASLC and SLC Conference Mentors can be:
- ASLC and SLC graduates
- Past Conference Mentors
- Past and active yTeam members
- A yLead travel participant
- A yLead participant that has graduated Year 12
- Any young person out in their community showcasing leadership
- Please be aware that SLC is a female specific mentor team

We recommend typing these answers into a Word document then copying and pasting the text into this online form. Just in case you have any technical issues submitting. - Submit a 30 second – 1 minute video that showcases your personality and tells us why you think you are suitable for this role.
Videos are only required if you have not volunteered for yLead at a conference before – upload as an ‘Unlisted’ video to YouTube and include the link in your submission. All applicants are welcome to submit a video so if you haven’t seen the yLead team for a while it is a great idea to help them place energy and a face to your name.
Each year it becomes more challenging to select the leadership teams due to the high quality of applicants. We create teams based on a wide variety of strengths and experience. Please take your time creating your responses, even if you have mentored before – this form carries a heavy weight in the selection process.
