How did yLead start?
yLead (then known as The Australian Youth Development Program) ran its first leadership camp for students and young corporates in 1989 at Bornhoffen in Northern NSW. Today, a passionate and enthusiastic team of highly skilled young professionals, led by CEO Bel Yorston, is taking yLead to places unfathomable in the early days.
Where in Australia do you work?
Our team travels to schools and locations all across Australia! We work with schools in locations as remote as Longreach and as far as Perth. We even run a leadership conference across the Tasman in New Zealand.
Where is your team located?
Our team is located in Brisbane, Queensland and we currently have a facilitator based in Melbourne, Victoria, however we are continually on the road working with young people from all across the country.
Who is yLead affiliated with?
yLead is an independent, not-for-profit association that is self-funded. We pride ourselves on our independence and are not affiliated with any religious groups or corporate organisations.
What ages do you work with?
We work with students in Year 3 – 12 plus young adults in university and other community groups. Our senior facilitators also deliver workshops and keynotes to teachers and corporate groups looking for vibrant and interactive presentations on leadership.
